Playing a Fellowship
A campaign player may call for a “Fellowship” of allied heroes or minor heroes to assemble at a hex number of his or her choice for the purpose of conducting a campaign related mission or task. Participating heroes take one movement phase to assemble regardless of the starting point on the campaign map. The Fellowship can consist of no more than 9 named hero or minor hero models and be any point value. These point values are taken away from the owning player’s army for the duration of the mission or task.

Once assembled, a Fellowship uses hidden movement on the campaign map and is tracked by the campaign coordinator as they move each turn towards their objective. While they can participate in large battles, they are primarily designed to be used in specific missions or scenarios set up to go along with the events of the campaign. Examples for the “Darkness Over Angmar” campaign include:

Prisoner Rescue
Steal the Shards of Narsil
Recovery of an ancient artifact in the Barrow Downs, Eregion or Kazadum
Escort of Key Figures in the campaign story
Slaying of a fell beast

A fellowship scenario or mission is designed to be played in a single gathering so the campaign can continue without significant delay. During the course of battles or scenarios, the models of a Fellowship must be played by the owning campaign character. In addition to being fun to play, players are rewarded for playing Fellowships by gaining magical items or weapons and earning additional campaign victory points.

Though the campaign coordinator will design, set-up and run the mission or scenario, opposing campaign players are welcome to play enemy models during the course of the game. Lost enemy models do not count towards opposing campaign army point values.
