Axis & Allies Minis to Flames of War Conversions - Part 5
Part-1 Part -2 Part-3 Part-4 Part-5 Part-6 Part-7 Part-8 Part-9 Part-10

Update: Friday, September 19, 2008

Progress continues. If I get lucky I may have them finished tomorrow night and possibly give them a test run on Sunday!!!

Below: The 1750 pt force. Sorry that it's blurry.

Below: Troop close ups. The stands have been painted and dryburhsed. The troops have thier Fieldgrau base coat and initial flesh painted.

Below: Vechicle close up. With a 2nd Coat of Tamyia Dark Yellow (XF-60) I finally got a good coverage. The 2nd coat made them a bit glossy, but they Future Finsh wash they will get will make them even more glossy. That's OK beacsue Testors Dull coat will flatten tthem back out agains with a nice finish. The Wespe running gear looks much better than I though they would now that they are painted. I should have cut the Wespe guns out and reglued them in at 45 degree elevaltion like the where shooting a bombardment.

All in all this will be a decent looking force. The Axis & Allies minis cannot compare to the Flames of War minis. But this Axis & Allies force well done will look better than many Flames of War forces I've seen.

Brian you won't win any painting awards with this force, but you won't have to be embarrased about this force.
